Henry Ford Health, through Henry Ford Innovations, has entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with Aurexo Therapeutics Inc., a Maryland-based biotechnology company, to help move promising cancer research from the lab to the clinic.
This collaboration focuses on extracellular vesicle (EV)–based therapies, an emerging approach that has the potential to deliver treatments more precisely and effectively. Aurexo Therapeutics has secured exclusive rights to Henry Ford Health’s EV intellectual property and will work closely with Dr. Michael Chopp, Dr. Zhenggang Zhang, and the Neurology Research Laboratory team to advance strong preclinical findings into future therapies. These efforts include applications in triple-negative breast cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, lung cancer, glioblastoma multiforme, and other aggressive cancers.
Leaders from Aurexo Therapeutics, including Dr. Javed Siddiqi, Chairman, and Dr. Imtiaz Mohiuddin, CEO, joined the team to emphasize the importance of this partnership and their shared commitment to advancing the science toward real-world patient impact.
The agreement was facilitated by Dr. Olena Danylyuk, Licensing Officer at Henry Ford Innovations, who will continue working with the research teams to support long-term value creation and successful clinical translation. Together, this partnership reflects Henry Ford Health’s mission to turn bold scientific discoveries into meaningful treatments, bringing innovation out of the laboratory and closer to the patients who need it most.
